Our Mission
Our mission is to empower children and youth, especially young women & girls living in extreme poverty through education and vocational training, so that they are able to sustain themselves, their families and their communities with pride and dignity.
According to the UN “Of those living in poverty, over 800 million people live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than US $1.25 a day.”
Our History
Extreme Poverty Projects was founded in 2015 with an education project for children in Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh. Since then we have worked in Burma, India, Indonesia and Malaysia to help empower children & youth in impoverished communities.
We are a registered non profit and a registered charity that can issue tax receipts (US 501c3 equivalent).
Our Team
Extreme Poverty Projects is entirely volunteer run: all of our fundraising, bookkeeping, reporting, monitoring, publicity, and travel to the grounds is done on volunteer time & money. This way, we are able to promise 100% of donor funds to the needy.
Our work on the grounds is entirely grassroots: all our projects are managed and run by the communities we support.
